CrossFit classes blend movements from gymnastics, rowing, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, sprinting, and jumping to help you build your best physical self. CrossFit group classes are specifically designed to help you increase cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibliity, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy simultaneously.
Carolina Beach Olympic Weightlifting
Carolina Beach Weightlifting is excellent for athletes who want to improve technical skills in the snatch, clean, and the jerk while also developing explosive power and mobility. We have multiple lifting platforms with jerk blocks, racks with straps for rack pulls, and a twelve foot by twelve foot hard wood platform to get a feel for competition platforms.
Proficient Olympic lifting requires flexibility, coordination, power, and speed although all fitness levels are encouraged to try this program. No program builds the elements of flexibility, coordination, power, and speed faster than the sport of Olympic lifting.
On Ramp is our developmental program for folks with no prior CrossFit experience. In this program we discuss what CrossFit is, giving detail to the “why’s” of what we do, and coach you through commonly used movements in this sport. Each day has specific guidance to gaining new exposure to different lifts and a good sweat. You will build a great base level of strength and endurance for a smooth transition to CrossFit group classes.
Fit for Life
If you are over the age of 55, Fit for Life at Carolina Beach is for you. Whether you are already active, have been inactive for years, or have nagging injuries, Fit for Life fits the bill. Build strength and endurance for doing whatever you want. Whether hiking at Hugh MacRae, traveling with friends, playing with grandkids, caring for a loved one, or just feeling confident to walk in the sand, we can help you build the strength to do any of this with ease.
Fit for Life is different from other programs in that we utilize functional movements to build strength & coordination, enhancing the quality of your life and your longevity.

Our Varsity program is designed to take young athletes to the next level for their sport. Sport specific training often leaves young athletes with specific skills but their training might not offer the best for them in the world of developing strength and stamina. Basketball season makes athletes better at shooting baskets, football and soccer season makes athletes better at the skills needed for those sports; CrossFit makes athletes the fittest, strongest, fastest, most explosive versions of themselves. The Varsity program is strategically designed to prepare young athletes for the physical demands of any sport and to prepare them for the next level, whether transitioning from Junior Varsity to Varsity, or from Varsity to University play.
Widely practiced for health and relaxation, yoga can help with breathing, flexibility, and improve ones mental capacity. We believe strongly in the benefits of pairing the benefits of yoga with the benefits of CrossFit, and our instructor, Heather Metzler, is adept at her practice with nearly two decades of experience. All members are welcome to join us on Saturday mornings for yoga at 8:45.
